Basement have introduced their new album with a video for its opening track, Disconnect.
The song trades in their post-hardcore roots for a bold arena-rock sound. “My prodigal son, what have you done, return while there’s something left," vocalist Andrew Fisher sings in the chorus, leaving no reserves in the tank. Talking to the Fader, who premiered it, he said:
"While recording we all sort of came to the conclusion that we wanted it to be the first song people heard without really even talking about it. I think that’s because it doesn’t try and be anything other than a straight forward rock song. I think it’s a great first example to show people who don’t know who we are, what this band is all about."
'Beside Myself', the follow up to 2016’s ‘Promise Everything’, will arrive on October 12 through Fueuled By Ramen. The band will follow up the record's release with a UK tour this autumn, where they will be joined by Joyce Manor. The run will kick off on November 18 in Manchester Academy.
