Robyn Returns With Trademark Pop Prowess on Missing U

Robyn was gone for so long that the near-constant pleas from her fans for new music eventually made it feel like she was in the room the whole time.
Eight years since the release of her last solo LP - 2010’s ‘Bodytalk’ - and following several collaborations that tended towards the esoteric, the influential Swedish pop artist is back with Missing U, a song that mixes melancholia and dancefloor imperatives like only she can.
“There’s this empty space you left behind,” she sings over glistening keys and an insistent thud of a beat. “I miss you,” is almost whispered as we head into the middle eight. It’ll feel like a warm embrace for everyone who’s been marking time.
