Robyn is a Swedish singer-songwriter and producer hailing from Stockholm. Born in 1979, she has become one of her home country’s favourite dance-pop artists, as well as one of the world’s too.
Best known for tracks like Do You Really Want Me (Show Respect), Do You Know (What It Takes), Be Mine!, Dancing on My Own, and With Every Heartbeat, Robyn is a platinum-selling, award-winning artist. Her debut album 'Robyn Is Here' hit shelves in 1995, and she's been popular ever since, with 'My Truth' dropping in 1999, 'Don't Stop The Music' in 2002, a self titled effort in 2005, 'Body Talk' in 2010, and 'Do It Again' in 2014.
Her latest release was October 2018's 'Honey', which saw a return into the spotlight. Fresh from the release of this comeback album, Robyn has announced two huge London shows as part of the wide-ranging 'Honey' tour, which touches down around Europe and North America. There is a method of mastering in dance music production - pioneered by Daft Punk - that involves increasing sidebar compression on the kick drum. The result is that the whole track throbs around the kick, and seems more aggressive, powerful and tight. It’s particularly effective for radio play, where things are engineered into a state of razor-like sharpness to be heard over rush hour traffic.
