Billie Eilish Reveals Chilling New Netflix Film-Inspired Track When I Was Older

Wednesday, 09 January 2019 Written by Helen Payne

Ahead of her upcoming UK and European show s Billie Eilish has revealed a new track.

When I Was Older is inspired by the Golden Globe-winning Netflix film ROMA, directed by Alfonso Cuarón.

Firstly being teased on Instagram, the full single is a chilling electro song that wouldn’t be out of place at an eerie Halloween party. Eilish relies on auto-tuned vocals on top of hushed, murmuring synths and a groovy, relaxed beat. It’s in a whole different dimension to Come Out And Play, which dropped in November and takes on more of a playful singer-songwriter persona.

Eliish brings her 1 BY 1 tour to the UK next spring, calling in Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham and London, where she'll play three nights at the O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire after touching down in Europe. Tickets are on sale now.

td#right {display:none !important;} td#right {display:none !important;} The way we listen to music may have changed throughout the decades but one thing remains a constant: we always want to see the real thing. We want to stand shoulder to shoulder with fellow fans as our favourite artists captivate us for an evening, taking us out of ourselves for a few hours as we sway to the beat and sing along until we’re hoarse. The statistics back up that the sentiment. This year has been another massive one on the live music front, and here we take a look at which tickets were the most sought-after in 2018.
