Soundwalk Collective have once again joined forces with Patti Smith.

They will release new album 'The Peyote Dance' on May 31 through Bella Union, who put out their previous collaborative LP 'Killer Road'.

The announcement comes today to coincide with the anniversary of the death of Antonin Artaud, whose book The Peyote Dance was the inspiration for the record. It was written about his experiences with Rarámuri, a group of indigenous people living in Chihuahua, Mexico.

The album is the first in a triptych of albums that Bella Union will release over the next year under the title 'The Perfect Vision', which in addition to Artaud take inspiration from French poets Arthur Rimbaud and René Daumal and their quests for furthering their insight into themselves and their works.

Head here for much more detail about the release and below for the artwork, tracklist and cut The New Revelations Of Being. The track is a chaotic number dominated by tribal drums and shrill strings, anchored by Smith's rich sung vocals and captivating spoken word.

'The Peyote Dance' tracklist:

1. Una Nota Sobre El Peyote
2. Indian Culture
3. Tutuguri: The Rite Of The Black Sun
4. Tutuguri: The Rite Of Black Night
5. The New Revelations Of Being
6. Alienation and Black Magic
7. Ivry
8. Basalówala Aminá Ralámuli Paísila
