Mumford and Sons have shared a powerful video for Beloved.
The emotional track serves as the second single from the quartet's most recent album, 'Delta', which arrived last November. The clip, meanwhile, was shot in Port Talbot, south Wales by BAFTA-nominated filmmaker Charlotte Regan. Discussing the meaning behind the song, frontman Marcus Mumford said:
"Everyone knows loss in one way or another. This song is about that. I'd never sat with anyone as they died before, and it had an effect on me. As it does everyone I know who has experienced it. But there’s wildness and beauty in it as well, and a deep honoring, that became the beginnings of this song that we worked up called Beloved. I feel determined for people to take whatever they want from it, and not to be emotionally prescriptive."
The indie giants are currently touring North America and return to the UK this summer to top the bill at London's All Points East in Victoria Park on June 1. Following this they'll head out for rescheduled autumn arena shows in Liverpool, Sheffield, Manchester and Cardiff, plus two dates at Dublin's Malahide Castle.
