Hellyeah To Release New Album 'Welcome Home' In September, Announce Summer North American Tour

Tuesday, 14 May 2019 Written by Jon Stickler

Hellyeah have announced their sixth studio album, 'Welcome Home'.

The 10-track LP is scheduled for release on September 27 via Eleven Seven Music and will mark the band's final effort with recordings of late drummer and founding member Vinnie Paul.

Head below to view the album's cover art and a teaser for the video accompanying its title track, which is set to be unveiled by the band this Friday, May 17. It'll follow the previously shared 333 in previewing the record.

The news follows last weekend's sold out concert in Las Vegas celebrating the life of Paul, who died on June 22, 2018 aged 54. The show marked the first time the band hit the stage since his passing and the debut of Stone Sour's Roy Mayorga as stand in.

The band will embark on an 18-city North American headline tour this July, culminating with a hometown show in Texas on August 17. Bassist Kyle Sanders said:

"While Vinnie Paul is obviously irreplaceable, one thing we can't not do is tour. As easy as it would be to say we're not going on the road, we have to.

"Vinnie would be extremely disappointed in us if we didn't promote this record properly. He'd be pissed off at all of us for putting all this work into finishing the record and then just letting it sit there on the shelf while we put a couple of songs to radio and whatever…and we know that."

Tickets go on general sale at 10am on May 17.

The end of any decade is, essentially, meaningless. We attach poignancy to it because we’re all narcissists in some way—we want this decade, our decade, to stand for something. Musically, the ‘90s did a better job than some of its peers in allowing us to think that: young people were swept up by grunge, or the gloss of modern R&B, or punk’s chart explosion, or the battle between the east and west coasts.
