Thurston Moore Announces New Album 'Spirit Counsel'

Ahead of his upcoming London show, Thurston Moore has announced a new album.
‘Spirit Counsel’ is a three disc box set, accompanied by a special booklet of photographs, lyrics and handwritten scores, and is due to arrive on September 21 via Moore’s own label Daydream Library Series. It follows up his 2017 album ‘Rock N Roll Consciousness’ and an improvised album with Charles Hayward.
The former Sonic Youth frontman is joined by Jon Leidecker, AKA Wobbly, as a studio member, following their tour together last year. Reflecting on a moment from the tour as to how Leidecker got involved, the group noted:
“We all fell for Jon during an unforgettable moment on the platform of the train station in rural Denmark as we stood beside him with other passengers and witnessed in awe as he and his hand-held electronics conducted an extensive conversation with the local crows. Suddenly all these birds flew in and surrounded him on the train platform and began singing with him."
The Thurston Moore Ensemble are set to play Hackney's EartH on May 31.
