City and Colour, aka Dallas Green, has returned with a new single.

Astronaut, which was produced by Grammy winner Jacquire King and mastered by Emily Lazar, is the first to be lifted from the Alexisonfire guitarist and vocalist's upcoming sixth solo album. It's expected to arrive this autumn through his own Still Records, an imprint of Dine Alone Records.

The track marks Green's first new solo offering in four years, since 2015's 'If I Should Go Before You'. It's intricately composed, allows Green's flawless vocals to take the lead — as they always should, and although clocking in at six minutes at no point does it become tiresome. He said:

“I always think of the relationships in my life that have been fractured because I ended up doing what I do for a living. I’m always gone, wandering around and singing songs. However, it weighs on my family and friends. I’m asking for ‘one more year’. I left home at 21 to go play my guitar. It’s lonely, but it’s because I yearn to wander. I’m aware of how lucky I am.”

Green recently reunited with his Alexisonfire bandmates and released two new tracks, for which they also worked with King. They played a London show on June 1 and have dates confirmed in New York, Los Angeles and Toronto during the rest of June.

City and Colour has US shows scheduled for October. Head here for details.
