Rare Jeff Buckley Live Material To Be Released For 'Grace' 25th Anniversary

Thursday, 08 August 2019 Written by Helen Payne

Rare live material by Jeff Buckley will be released by Columbia and Legacy Recordings.

The collection, out August 23, will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the legendary songwriter’s seminal album ‘Grace’. It will include four live concert albums, — ‘Live At Wetlands, New York, NY 8/16/94’, ‘Live From Seattle, WA, May 7, 1995’, ‘Cabaret Metro, Chicago, IL, May 13, 1995’ and ‘Live at Columbia Records Radio Hour’— the long-awaited demo of Sy Blue Skin, recorded during Buckley’s final studio session, and expanded editions of ‘Mystery White Boy’, ‘Sketches For My Sweetheart The Drunk’ and ‘Grace’ itself. An anniversary edition of the latter will also be released on gold vinyl.

Buckley’s mother, Mary Guibert commented:

"The music industry has made a couple of sea changes since Jeff departed the planet. I don't know if he foresaw even a glimpse of the current state of affairs. Since all we have of his true remains is what's in "the vault", I'm thrilled that we can finally fling open the doors of that vault and make as much as possible available to Jeff's fans: the old ones and the new ones, and the ones who have not yet been born.”
