AFI And Thrice Join Jimmy Eat World As 2000trees Headliners

Wednesday, 25 March 2020 Written by Laura Johnson

AFI and Thrice will join Jimmy Eat World as headliners of this year's 2000trees.

California band AFI (pictured) will top the bill on Friday (July 10), returning for their first UK appearance and first festival headline slot in three years. Thrice, meanwhile, will headline on Saturday (July 11), performing their 'Vheissu' album in its entirety followed by a set of fan favourites.

They join the previously confirmed Jimmy Eat World who headline Thursday's bill (July 9). Other acts announced today include Against The Current, Black Peaks, Crossfaith, the Chats, Anti-Flag, Lonely the Brave, and Royal Republic among others.

The award-winning festival will return to Upcote Farm near Cheltenham in July to play host to bands fluent in pop-punk, hardcore, indie and all that falls in between. The festival's co-founder and booker James Scarlett said:

“Clearly these are difficult times in the World and indeed, the festival industry and it would seem that uncertainty is everyone's new normal. However as it stands, we’re still super hopeful that 2000trees 2020 can go ahead in July as planned. Obviously we don’t have a crystal ball though, so we are looking into all possible options and should the ban on gatherings continue for the next few months, we may have to look at moving 2000trees to later in the year.  But again, as it stands, we sincerely hope this won’t be necessary.  As people can probably imagine, you don't just magic a festival out of thin air the week before, therefore we are continuing to work behind the scenes on 2000trees 2020. This way we can make sure that, when we get the green light, we have everything in place to host an amazing party for everyone. And for an amazing festival, you obviously need headliners!

With that in mind, we’re very excited to let everyone know that when this has all passed, AFI and Thrice will be joining Jimmy Eat World as 2000trees headliners. Not only that, but we also have 16 more bands to get excited about.

For now though, the most important thing we can all do is keep looking after ourselves and in turn others, take advice from the experts and support the most vulnerable in our communities. Big love to everyone.”  .
