Lewis Capaldi Shares New Single Before You Go

Tuesday, 19 November 2019 Written by Jon Stickler

Lewis Capaldi has released a new song, Before You Go.

The ballad, which he describes as his most personal to date, was written about his aunt taking her own life and features hard-hitting lyrics. "So, before you go, was there something I could have said to make your heart beat better?" he sings, and later, 'It kills me how your mind can make you feel so worthless.'

Taking the opportunity to thank his fan base for his success, Capaldi wrote on Twitter:

"The past year has been absolutely wild, didn't in a million years think all of this stuff would happen to me.

"Less than two years ago I was lucky enough to get to gig in small pubs and bars back home in Scotland and somehow I am writing this with a number one single in America and getting to play to and meet thousands of ya every night all over the world.

"Today at 5pm UK time I am releasing Before You Go which is by far the most personal tune I've ever written."

The song arrives alongside a re-release of Bruises, which is currently at number eight in the midweek UK singles chart. Someone You Loved currently sits at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 for the third week.

Capaldi released his debut album, 'Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent', earlier this year. He tours the UK and Europe later this year, with further dates lined up throughout 2020. Tickets are on sale now.

Cold War Kids - New Age Norms 1 (Album Review)
Wed 20 Nov 2019
With the economics of the music industry in a prolonged state of flux, bands have found new ways to get by. Cold War Kids, who burst onto the American indie scene with ‘Robbers and Cowards’ in 2006, have decided to release three short albums instead of one full LP. ‘New Age Norms 1’ is the first in that series and to longtime fans the results will be pleasing.
