The Pretenders Post New Single You Can't Hurt A Fool

The Pretenders have shared a new track from their upcoming album.
You Can’t Hurt a Fool, an introspective R&B ballad crisscrossed by brittle clean guitars, is the latest song to emerge from 'Hate For Sale', the follow-up to 2016's 'Alone'. The LP will now arrive on July 17, having been pushed back from May 1.
“I suppose our biggest influence, apart from crazy, hardcore rock & roll, has been R&B,” Chrissie Hynde said in a statement. “James [Walbourne, guitar] and I really grappled with this one to get in all the subtleties and nuance of an R&B classic, albeit with modern, autobiographical lyrics. The fool is me!”
