The Pretenders have released a new single.
Following the previously shared You Can’t Hurt A Fool, Hate For Sale and The Buzz, Turf Accountant Daddy is the latest track to be taken from the legendary rockers’ forthcoming eleventh LP, ‘Hate For Sale’. The new album is scheduled for release on July 17 via BMG, after being pushed back from May 1 due to concerns regarding the coronavirus pandemic.
The swaggering single allows Chrissie Hynde to lean into a characteristic vocal performance that shows off a still intact lower register, while a playful bassline chugs along. Listen to it below.
Elsewhere, the band recently confirmed that their summer 2020 North American tour with Journey has been cancelled due to COVID-19. It is not certain whether the shows will be rescheduled into 2021. Keep up to date in real time with new information via Stereoboard.
