The Killers Remix Lost Rolling Stones Cut Scarlet

Friday, 28 August 2020 Written by Huw Baines

The Rolling Stones have unveiled a further remix of Scarlet, with the Killers and Jacques Lu Cont stepping up to reinterpret the recently unearthed track.

Following Adam Granduciel’s none more War on Drugs effort, this take on the song is playful and skronky—somewhere between ‘Screamadelica’ and the Scissors Sisters.

Scarlet, which features Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page and Blind Faith’s Rick Gerch, was originally recorded by the Stones in 1974. It will feature as one of three unreleased songs on the rock legends' upcoming deluxe and box set edition of 1973's ‘Goats Head Soup’, set to arrive on September 4.
