Buck Meek has announced a new album.

'Two Saviors' will arrive on January 15 via Keeled Scales, marking the Big Thief guitarist's first collection of solo material since his 2018 eponymous debut.

The Texas native recorded the full-length within a Victorian House yards from the Mississippi River alongside Andrew Sarlo who produced all of the Big Thief albums. The specific conditions included recording during the hottest part of the year, and spending no more than seven days tracking, all live, on an 8-track tape machine with only dynamic microphones and no headphones. Additionally, Meek's backing band were not allowed to hear back any takes until the final day.

As a second preview, cut Second Sight has been shared. It's a bluesy track that exposes Meek's Lone Star State roots with a blend of acoustic guitar and insistent percussion. It follows Roll Back Your Clocks which landed earlier in 2020. He said:

"The value in our world is built by the labour of love - a currency that accrues no debt, enriching both the giver and receiver. This wealth provides the vitality needed to lift a hammer, to raise a roof, and to lay upon the eaves in silent awe of nature and civilization and the culmination of universal effort. Magic (the left hand of love?) arises from attention, and is accessible to all without prejudice. A creation from nothing, from some uncaused cause, some eternal unmoved mover."

Big Thief drummer James Krivchenia dropped his solo LP back in June, while their vocalist Adrianne Lenker’s 'Songs’ and ‘Instrumentals’ will both arrive on October 23.

Meek was set to tour Europe, Australia, New Zealand and North America with Big Thief this summer, but the band were forced to cancel all shows due to the current pandemic.

'Two Saviors' tracklist:

1. Pareidolia
2. Candle
3. Second Sight
4. Two Saviors
5. Two Moons
6. Dream Daughter
7. Ham On White
8. Cannonball! Pt. 2
