Maxïmo Park To Support New LP 'Nature Always Wins' With Summer UK Tour

Maxïmo Park have shared details of their new album.
The trio will release 'Nature Always Wins' on February 26 via Prolifica Inc, their first full-length in almost four years, following up 2017's 'Risk To Exist'.
Work on the LP began in summer 2019 with Grammy-winning producer and musician Ben Allen joining the band for sessions. The coronavirus lockdown period meant they had to record in real time from Newcastle and Liverpool with Allen based in Atlanta.
The record will contain the recent single Child Of The Flatlands alongside the newly released Sleep, Baby, a slice of synth-infused, guitar-driven indie-rock which arrives with a video viewable below. Vocalist Paul Smith said:
"I'm so happy we were able to make this album during lockdown, as it's been a challenging time for everyone. After almost 4 years since Risk To Exist, we wanted to explore new musical territory (for us) without sacrificing our trademark melodic twists and heartfelt lyrics.
"As always, the passing of time looms large, although the songs contain more affection for the past than before, and there are occasional hints of the fractious, divided time that we live in."
Maxïmo Park will support the album with a UK tour in June 2021, calling in Bristol, London, Manchester, Sheffield, Glasgow, Birmingham and a return to their home turf of Newcastle. Tickets go on general sale at 9am on October 23.
