Bad Religion have released a new song.

What Are We Standing For is an outtake from the Los Angeles punk legends' 2019 LP, 'Age Of Unreason'. Predictably speedy and retaining the band's hallmark rebellious energy, the track carries a message of support for professional athletes, and others, who have taken a knee to protest police brutality and racism. Co-songwriter and guitarist, Brett Gurewitz said:

"What Are We Standing For is a song in support of athletes like Colin Kaepernick who take a knee to protest racism and police brutality: 'Don’t know what they’re standing for anymore/ Show some understanding for/ Those who kneel to implore know just what they’re standing for.'

"In this time of tribal nationalism, dissent, as a form of political speech, is vital to democracy."

Back in May, Bad Religion rescheduled the UK leg of their 40th anniversary tour to June 2021 in response to the coronavirus pandemic. Original tickets remain valid and U.K. Subs will still open.
