Gruff Rhys Announces New Book Resist Phony Encores!

Monday, 19 October 2020 Written by Jon Stickler

Gruff Rhys has shared details of a new book.

Written by the Super Furry Animals frontman with longtime visual collaborator Mark James, Resist Phony Encores! will be released on February 21 and chronicles the vocalist's entire career through words, photographs and cue cards.

The admittedly socially awkward singer has often used the cards during live performances as an effective method of interacting with his audiences.

Often comedic and thought provoking, the cards became the focal point of his 2018 one man show titled Resist Phony Encores!, which the singer has expanded into "a selective memoir in the form of graphics, images, and mass communications."

The book is available for pre-order now and the first 500 orders will receive a limited set of 10 postcard-sized cue cards.

Rhys put out his sixth solo studio album, 'Pang!', in 2019.
