Gruff Rhys is a Welsh psychedelic rock singer-songwriter and musician from Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire.
Starting his music career in 1986, as a member of Ffa Coffi Pawb, he went on to form Super Furry Animals in 1993, later Neon Neon in 2007. He released his debut solo album, ‘Yr Atal Genhedlaeth’, in 2005, followed by ‘Candylion’ in 2007, ‘Hotel Shampoo’, in 2011 and ‘American Interior’ in 2014, which hit #24 in the UK Albums Chart. He released the soundtrack to ‘Set Fire to the Stars’ in September 2016, and his latest, 'Babelsberg', is due for release on June 8.
He has headlined his own shows and tours across the UK and has performed at festivals such as Glastonbury.
Gruff Rhys performed at Wales Millennium Centre as part of Cardiff's Festival of Voice in June 2018, and continued the year by touring the UK and Ireland supporting his new record.
