Little Mix have announced the departure of Jesy Nelson (pictured left).
The vocal group broke the news on Twitter following weeks of speculation as Nelson had failed to join them for their last few public appearances. They said:
"After an amazing 9 years together Jesy has made the decision to leave Little Mix. This is an incredibly sad time for all of us but we are fully supportive of Jesy.
"We love her very much and agree that it is so important that she does what is right for her mental health and well-being. We are still very much enjoying our Little Mix journey and the of us are not ready for it to be over.
"We know that Jesy leaving the group is going to be really upsetting for our fans. We love you guys so much and are so grateful for your loyalty and continued support for all of us.
"We're looking forward to seeing so many of you on tour.

Little Mix formed in 2011 during the eighth series of The X-Factor, which the group went on to win. They released their debut album, ‘DNA’, in 2012 and followed it up with 'Salute' the next year. Their third studio album, 'Get Weird', arrived in 2015, followed by ‘Glory Days’ in 2016 and 'LM5' in 2018.
They released their new album, 'Confetti', this November, and will support it with a UK and Ireland arena tour in spring 2021. Head below for dates and ticket details.
