Jordan Adetunji Announced As Northern Ireland National Ambassador For Independent Venue Week 2021

Thursday, 07 January 2021 Written by Jon Stickler

Jordan Adetunji has been revealed as the Northern Ireland ambassador for this year's Independent Venue Week.

The Belfast hip hop artist joins Arlo Parks and Gruff Rhys — who represent England and Wales respectively — in championing the annual seven-day celebration of grassroots promoters and venues within the UK live music sector. He said:

"I am delighted to have been chosen as the ambassador for Northern Ireland during Independent Venue Week 2021. Independent venues play a vital role in creating economic opportunities, while at the same time showcasing and promoting the works of many local artists like myself.

"This is a fantastic opportunity to bring together venues, artists, events operators, and the public – especially in these challenging times – to highlight the importance of independent venues."

An ambassador for Scotland will be announced soon as well as further information on the 2021 programme. Head to the event's website for more details.

Independent Venue Week will take place between January 25 and 31 with 79 venues locked in to take part, 82% of which are outside of London.
