Citizen Unveil New Track Blue Sunday

Wednesday, 10 February 2021 Written by Jon Stickler

Citizen have released a new single, Blue Sunday.

The mellow and atmospheric track is anchored by a solid bass groove and marks a stylistic jump from their previously shared dance-punk cut I Want To Kill You. Head below to view its accompanying Mason Mercer-directed video.

Vocalist Mat Kerekes said: "The song came about once I wrote the bass and drums to the verse for Blue Sunday. I sent it to the rest of the band and then we all got together to do the rest. Everything flowed naturally and it is one of my favorite songs on the record. It’s essentially about me never wanting to leave my house and although that makes me happy, it is bad for me in different ways."

Both singles will feature on the Toronto-based band's upcoming fourth album, 'Life In Your Glass World', due out on March 26 via Run For Cover Records.
