Kanye West Announces Imminent 10th Studio Album 'Donda'

Wednesday, 21 July 2021 Written by Jon Stickler

Kanye West has announced his imminent 10th studio album.

The follow-up to 2019's Grammy-winning 'Jesus Is King' is called 'Donda' and will arrive this Friday (July 23) via G.O.O.D. Music/Def Jam Recordings/EMI Records.

While a lot is still unknown about the project, Def Jam Recordings confirmed the news with a post on social media, revealing it will arrive later this week, following a listening event in Atlanta on Thursday which will be streamed live by Apple.

Details of the event along with a snippet of a new song, No Child Left Behind, were unveiled on July 20 during a Beats By Dre commercial starring sprinter Sha'Carri Richardson, which aired during game six of the NBA Finals. Take a look below.

West first teased 'Donda', which is named after his late mother, in summer 2020, posting a tracklist of song titles, but the record was never released.

UPDATE: The album did not arrive as expected on July 23. There has been no official update from West, though it is thought the record may be released on August 6, following another listening event at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta the day before.
