The Boomtown Rats have surprise released a new EP.
'Out The Back Of Boomtown' features five new tracks that were recorded during the sessions for their latest studio album, 'Citizens of Boomtown', which came out back in March 2020 and marked their first full-length original release for 36 years.
The EP arrived on October 8, just three days following the 70th birthday of frontman Bob Geldof. All songs were penned by him, except Three Dogs, which was written by Geldof, the band's drummer Simon Crowe and bassist Pete Briquette, and The Zone which Geldof and Briquette co-wrote.
The band — completed by guitarist Garry Roberts — will play the London Palladiuim tomorrow (October 14).
