Bonobo Shares New Single Tides Featuring Jamila Woods

Wednesday, 20 October 2021 Written by Jon Stickler

Bonobo has released a new song, Tides.

Following Rosewood, the track marks the latest preview of his new album, 'Fragments', due out through Ninja Tune on January 14.

Cast across a dreamy soundscape, the cathartic collaboration with Chicago singer-songwriter and poet Jamila Woods finds the electronic artist offering a more pensive cut compared to its predecessor. Bonobo commented:

"When I first heard Jamila's vocal she had recorded I knew instantly I had a centrepiece for the album. Lyrically it captured everything the project was about. This track was a real turning point in the process of finishing the album and Miguel Atwood-Ferguson’s incredible string parts at the end brought the whole thing to another level."

Woods added: "I’m really excited to be a part of Bonobo's project. I connected with the track as soon as I heard it. It felt like rain and waves to me before I even knew the project had a theme of cycles and tides, so it all came together very organically."

Simon Green will support the record with a world tour, spanning North America in February and March, Europe in April and the UK in May. Tickets are on sale.
