Blood Red Shoes Set January Release For Sixth LP 'Ghosts On Tape', Post New Song Morbid Fascination

Blood Red Shoes have announced their sixth studio album.
Produced by Tom Dalgety, 'Ghosts On Tape' will arrive through Velveteen Records on January 14 and feature the newly shared first single Morbid Fascination, an electronica-driven slice of fuzz-inflicted dark-pop.
Recorded at Echo Zoo Studios, Eastbourne, in March 2020, the record came together after Laura Mary Carter and Steven Ansell began working together on the former's debut solo mini-album, 'Town Called Nothing', due out on December 3.
After years spent living on opposite sides of the Atlantic Ocean, and with world events halting touring, the pair began jamming sessions in rehearsal rooms, which led to the surprise release of their 'Ø' EP in the summer. Ansell said:
"It’s been a loooong time since we both lived in the same city. I mean we actually wrote this album in LA at Laura's place, then came to the UK to record it…and then everything went nuts."
He added: "We've always been outsiders right from the very beginning. This album is really about us asserting ourselves as our own little island. We have made an entire career out of being told what we are "not", of being rejected, of not fitting in, and this album is us deliberately pushing into all of our strangeness, emphasising all of the things that make us different.
"Ultimately this album is an invitation. It’s us saying, this is our world, these are our darkest thoughts and feelings - our ghosts - caught on tape. You are welcome to join us. Come and embrace the strange."
The pair will support the record with a previously confirmed UK and European tour early in 2022. Tickets are on sale now.
