Lykke Li has announced an ambitious new project.

'Eyeye' will arrive on May 20 and marks the Swedish artist's fifth album. Recorded in her Los Angeles bedroom, it finds her realigning with her long-time collaborator, Björn Yttling, for their first creative collaboration since 2014's 'I Never Learn'.

The record is accompanied by seven videos that reveal a larger narrative, with themes of love, addiction, relapse and obsession. As a preview, check out the single No Hotel, a minimal, sad, heartbreak song that's sung entirely in Swedish.

The visual accompaniment of 'Eyeye' will be released alongside the record. Directed by Theo Lindquist and shot on 16 millimetre film by cinematographer Edu Grau, each one-minute video represents a fragment of the LP's core story, which unfurls around a theme of infinite cycles we experience in life. Head below for a teaser.

"We wanted to capture the beauty and grandeur of a three-hour European arthouse movie, while making something native to modern media," Li commented. "The intention is to deliver the full impact of a movie in sixty seconds on a phone screen, which is where most of our emotional experiences happen now anyway."
