MUNA have released a new single, One That Got Away.
They debuted the beat-led dance-pop track during their set at last weekend's Coachella. It arrives with a video directed by Ally Pankiw and Taylor James, and starring Australian actor/singer Caitlin Stasey alongside the band, who said:
“This song is just rubbing your hot ass in the face of someone who messed up their chance of being with you. It’s a bit vengeful and mean, but also fun. Fuck it. Once I sent Naomi and Jo the demo they really took the cockiness in the lyric and vocal performance and carried it to the extreme with the production of the track. It became this super bombastic, Janet Jackson-era track. Ally Pankiw, who directed the music video with Taylor James, then came up with the idea of putting the music video in a criminal underworld, which we thought fit perfectly. Plus we wanted an excuse to dress Jo up like The Bear.”
MUNA are currently on the road for the North American leg of their Life's So Fun Tour, which will head to the UK and Europe during the summer.
They'll also support Taylor Swift on select US dates of her current Eras Tour, and will support Boygenius at select shows on their European tour, including London's Gunnersbury Park and Dublin's Royal Hospital Kilmainham.
They'll also appear at a number of UK and European festivals this summer, including Reading and Leeds in August.
MUNA released their self-titled third album in 2022.
