Liam Gallagher And John Squire Announce Collaborative Single Just Another Rainbow

Liam Gallagher and John Squire have shared the first details of a collaborative project.
The former Oasis vocalist turned solo star and legendary former Stone Roses guitarist and songwriter have unveiled a teaser clip for their new joint single, Just Another Rainbow, due out on January 5.
The "psychedelia-tinged" track couples Squire's guitar with Gallagher's vocals, and is available to pre-save digitally and pre-order on 7" vinyl here. Check out a snippet of the single below. Squire commented:
"To me, the most obvious take on Just Another Rainbow is that it's about disappointment, and the sentiment is that you never get what you really want. But I don't like to explain songs, I think that's the privilege of the listener, it's whatever you want it to be. To me, it's also one of the most uplifting tracks we’ve made together, which is weird."
Gallagher added: "I think John's a top songwriter. Everyone always bangs on about him as a guitarist, but he’s a top songwriter too, man, no two ways about it as far as I'm concerned. There's not enough of his music out there, whether it's with the Roses or himself. It's good to see him back writing songs and fucking good ones.
"The melodies are mega and then the guitars are a given. But I think even when you take all the fucking guitars off, you can play the songs all on acoustic and they’ll all still blow your mind."
In June 2022, Squire joined Gallagher on stage at Knebworth Park for a performance of the Oasis song Champagne Supernova. Gallagher followed up the appearance with a post on X, formerly Twitter: "Super group incoming LG JS."
In October of this year, Gallagher revealed on X that the pair had recorded an album, revealing it was, "the best record since Revolver".
Gallagher recorded vocals for two demos per day at Squire's studio in Macclesfield. They then headed to Los Angeles for three weeks with renowned producer Greg Kurstin, who also plays bass on the record, with drums taken care of by Joey Waronker (Beck, R.E.M., Atoms for Peace).
Gallagher will celebrate 30 years of Oasis' 'Definitely Maybe' album with a UK and Ireland tour in June, before headlining Glasgow's TRNSMT festival the following month, then Vital Belfast and Reading andLeeds Festival in August. Tickets are on sale now.
