Kings Of Leon have announced the special guests for their Cardiff show.
Courteeners (pictured) will open for the Grammy-winning American rock band at the Blackweir Fields in the Welsh capital on June 29. The gig forms part of the inaugural Blackweir Live concert series, tickets for which are on sale now.
Founder of DEPOT Live, Nick Saunders said: "Courteeners are one of the country’s most iconic bands and pairing them with Kings of Leon will make this an unforgettable night that you won’t want to miss.”
Cuffe and Taylor co-founder Peter Taylor added: “We’ve had the pleasure of working with Courteeners on multiple occasions and it is safe to say they will be a formidable special guest for headliners Kings of Leon. This is set to be a huge night for Blackweir.”
Kings Of Leon, whose latest album is 2024's 'Can We Please Have Fun', have a busy summer ahead, with appearances also confirmed at Lytham Festival in Lancashire, Come Together in Newcastle, Mad Cool Festival in Spain, NOS Alive in Portugal and Portsmouth's Victorious Festival.
Courteeners also released a record last year, 'Pink Cactus Café'. They will head to Australia for a string of dates in March, calling in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne. They'll also play several UK festivals throughout the summer, including Y Not?, Truck and Kendal Calling, before headlining the Rock 'N' Roll Circus at Norwich's Earlham Park in August.
