Low's Alan Sparhawk has announced his second solo album.
The follow-up to 2024's 'White Roses, My God' was recorded with long-time friends and fellow Minnesota band Trampled By Turtles in late 2023 at Pachyderm Studios in Cannon Falls, Minnesota. Aptly titled 'With Trampled By Turtles', it'll arrive on May 30 via Sub Pop.
As a preview, Sparhawk has shared the record's folky lead single, Stranger, which offers elements of bluegrass and arrives with a video you can view below. Commenting on the collaboration with his fellow Duluth musicians, who have played with Sparhawk many times over the years, he said:
"There's a certain vibe that has to do with underdog syndrome, coming from a small town. Some of it is the weird grind and slackness that being at the mercy of Mother Nature puts in you. It humbles you."
Sparhawk will tour North America beginning later this month, before a run of UK and European dates between May and August that includes appearances at Primavera Festival Barcelona, Primavera Festival Porto and Green Man festival in Wales. Tickets are on sale now.
Low released their most recent album, 'Hey What', in 2021.
