Soft Play have shared a new single featuring Kate Nash.
Slushy finds the band's Isaac Holman duetting with Nash in an angsty tone atop a garage-rock backdrop. It's one of six additional tracks that will feature on 'Heavier Jelly', an expanded, deluxe version of Soft Play's 2024 album 'Heavy Jelly', due out on April 18.
Commenting on the new songs, which were recorded during the original album sessions and subsequent studio visits, Soft Play's Laurie Vincent said:
"These songs are the bastard children of Heavy Jelly, strange experimentations/ delusions that didn't fit the mould. I'm excited for our fans to get a glimpse into some more music that came from the world of 'Heavy Jelly'. Strap in."
The Tunbridge Wells punk duo will embark on a run of North American shows in April, which include performances at Coachella, dates supporting Kneecap, and headline gigs. In the summer, they'll tour the UK and Europe, playing festivals and outdoor shows, including dates supporting The Libertines and Idles, plus slots at Reading and Leeds. Head here for details. Tickets are on sale now.
Holman and Nash previously collaborated on Telephobia, a song from Holman's Baby Dave solo project. BRIT Award-winner Kate Nash released her latest album, and fifth overall, '9 Sad Symphonies', in 2024. She'll play London's O2 Forum Kentish Town on April 9, before appearances at Mighty Hoopla in London, and Nottingham's Splendour Festival.
