My Morning Jacket Share New Track Half A Lifetime Ahead Of 'Is' Release

My Morning Jacket have shared another track ahead of the release of their new album.

Half A Lifetime is a choppy rock track that was created from an unearthed demo from the sessions for the Louisville band's 2005 album, 'Z'. Frontman Jim James said:

"It’s about doing whatever it takes to get where you need to go, instead of bailing when things get hard. Which is funny considering that it literally took a half a lifetime to finish."

It serves as the third taster of the Brendan O'Brien-produced 'Is', due out through ATO Records this Friday (March 21), and arrives with a video directed by Danny Clinch. 

The band previously teased the record with their February single Squid Ink, and Time Waited, which arrived in January alongside the announcement of the LP.

They'll follow its release with a short US tour between April 1 and May 2, which features an appearance at New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. They also have a second North American leg scheduled between August 5 and November 1. Tickets are on sale.
