The National's Matt Berninger Releases New Single Breaking Into Acting Featuring Hand Habits

The National's Matt Berninger has shared a new single, Breaking Into Acting.
The acoustic track pairs the frontman's melancholic baritone delivery with layered vocals from Hand Habits' Meg Duffy. "Sometimes you have to fake forgiveness before you can actually forgive," Berninger explained. Head below to view the song's accompanying video, directed by Hopper Mills.
It follows Bonnet Of Pins in previewing Berninger's sophomore solo album, 'Get Sunk', due out on May 30 via Book/Concord Records.
He'll support the record with North American tour dates between May 19 and June 1, followed by UK and European shows in August and September, including an appearance at End Of The Road Festival in Dorset. Tickets are on sale now.
The National, meanwhile, put out two albums in 2023, 'First Two Pages of Frankenstein' and 'Laugh Track'. Last December, they also released the live album 'Rome'.
