Bruce Springsteen has unveiled another previously unheard song from his upcoming collection of lost albums.

Inspired by rockabilly and country music, the lively Repo Man serves as the opening track of 'Somewhere North of Nashville', one of seven previously forgotten records to be released as part of the 'Tracks II: The Lost Albums' box set, due out on June 27. Head here for more details on the collection.

Recorded at the same time as 1995's 'The Ghost of Tom Joad', 'Somewhere North of Nashville' was tracked live in the studio with the same musicians, including Danny Federici, Garry Tallent and Gary Mallaber, with pedal steel from Marty Rifkin and fiddle by Soozie Tyrell. Springsteen explained:

"What happened was I wrote all these country songs at the same time I wrote 'The Ghost of Tom Joad'. Those sessions completely overlap each other. I’m singing Repo Man in the afternoon and The Line at night. So the country record got made right along with 'The Ghost of Tom Joad'.

"'Streets of Philadelphia' got me connected to my socially conscious or topical songwriting. So that’s where ‘The Ghost of Tom Joad’ came from. But at the same time I had this country streak that was also running through those sessions and I ended up making a country record on the side."

Alongside the early April announcement of 'Tracks II: The Lost Albums', Springsteen released Rain In The River, from the 'Perfect World' LP in the collection. Later in April, he unveiled Blind Spot, the first song off the 'Streets of Philadelphia Sessions' LP, also in the set.

Earlier this month, he shared the acoustic ballad Faithless, the title track from a forgotten soundtrack album intended to accompany a film that never ended up getting made. Other never-heard records in the set include 'Inyo', 'Twilight Hours', and 'LA Garage Sessions ’83'.

Springsteen and The E Street Band will kick off a European tour with the first of three shows at Manchester's Co-Op Live arena tonight (May 14). The run also includes two shows at Liverpool’s Anfield Stadium on June 4 and 7. Tickets are on sale now.
