Yungblud Unveils New Single Zombie, Teases Accompanying Video Starring Florence Pugh

Yungblud has shared a new song, Zombie.
The sombre, arena-sized rock ballad is lifted from 'Idols', the first part of his double album, which is due for release on June 20. Introducing the track, the Doncaster singer-songwriter said:
“The song was written initially about my grandmother going through serious injury and trauma, leading her to become a different person to who she was before. It’s about the feeling of deterioration and ugliness; shutting out the world and the people we love out of the fear of becoming a burden or an embarrassment.
“We all want someone or something to comfort us no matter how we are right now or who we become in the future. But it’s f*cking scary.”
Zombie's accompanying video stars Academy Award-nominated actress Florence Pugh playing an overwhelmed health worker, and was directed by Charlie Sarsfield. It premieres at 4pm BST today (May 30).
His Bludfest event will return to Milton Keynes Bowl on June 21, the day after the new record arrives, with Yungblud set to headline the bill, following sets from Chase Atlantic, Blackbear, Denzel Curry, Rachel Chinouriri, JXDN, Peach, PRC, Luvcat, Master Peace, Cliffords and more. Tickets are on sale now.
Following that, he's lined up intimate UK shows in July, during which he'll play stripped back versions of tracks from 'Idols' and explain how the songs were created. Tickets for those gigs went on sale yesterday (May 29).
