Big Thief Announce New Album 'Double Infinity', Share First Single Incomprehensible

Big Thief have shared plans for a new album.
Produced by longtime collaborator Dom Monks, 'Double Infinity' will arrive through 4AD on September 5, marking the Brooklyn band's sixth studio full-length, following up 2022's 'Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You'.
Recorded last winter at the legendary New York City studio Power Station, many of the tracks were captured live, according to a statement posted by the band on social media. They wrote:
"We (James, Buck, & Adrianne) spent the last couple of years gathering songs, then asked our friends to join us in bringing the songs to life, and then whittled it down to the nine in this batch. We rode our bikes through the wintery streets of Manhattan to the Power Station, bright-eyed and curious as ever to play! We played our hearts out with our friends in that room, and thankfully it was recorded. What a gift! We’re so proud and excited to be part of this and to share with you all!"
To coincide with the announcement, the trio have shared the first single from the record, Incomprehensible, a rich, introspective track that serves up their signature storytelling lyricism underpinned by a hypnotic, percussion-led groove. Press play below.
Big Thief will support the LP with their North American Somersault Slide 360 Tour in the fall. Tickets are on sale now.
