Margo Price Announces 'Hard Headed Woman' LP With Lead Single Don't Let The Bastards Get You Down

Margo Price has announced a new album.
The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter will release 'Hard Headed Woman', her fifth studio record, through Loma Vista Recordings on August 29.
Produced by frequent collaborator Matt Ross-Spang, and recorded in the historic RCA Studio A in Nashville, Tennessee, the follow-up to 2023's 'Strays' and the companion album 'Strays II' features duets with Tyler Childers and Jesse Welles.
It finds Price returning to her roots in outlaw country music, as heard on the record's playful lead single, Don't Let the Bastards Get You Down. Inspired by the message that Kris Kristofferson whispered to Sinéad O’Connor when she was booed on stage at a Bob Dylan anniversary concert in 1992, it was co-written with Price's husband Jeremy Ivey, Kristofferson and Rodney Crowell. "I always hope to do like Johnny Cash did, which is speak up for the common man and woman,” Price explained. “But there have been so many threats and anger and vitriol over the years, when I am only coming from a place of love. So I made the decision to rebuild everything from the ground up. I hope this album inspires people to be fearless and take chances and just be unabashedly themselves, in a culture that tries as hard as it can to beat us into all being the same."
Margo's 2025 North American tour itinerary includes appearances at Newport Folk Festival, Ohana Festival, Farm Aid, and dates with Mumford And Sons. She'll also play a headline UK show at London's Scala next Wednesday (June 18). Tickets are on sale now.
