Miles Kane has laid out plans for a new album.
The Wirral-born indie icon will release 'Sunlight In The Shadows' through Easy Eye Sound on October 17, following up 2023's 'One Man Band'. It was produced by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys, who also sings backing vocals and plays guitar on every song. Kane said:
"All roads, over 20 years, have led here. Dan and I love mixing T. Rex, Motown and The Easybeats and the result is this record. When we were chatting and sharing references, we were so similar in taste it was frightening and you can hear that shared passion through the music. I can’t wait to take it out on the road. It’s an album that needs to be played live."
Auerbach added: "This record was incredible to make, from start to finish. I felt like I gained a life-long friend in Miles. And that doesn't always happen. When it does, it's amazing. This is an artist who could potentially make records forever."
The 12-track record also features guitarist Nick Bockrath of Cage The Elephant, Barrie Cadogan from Little Barrie, The Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney, Pat McLaughlin and Daniel Tashian.
To coincide with the record's announcement, Kane has shared the reflective, guitar-led first single, Love Is Cruel, which he describes as, "Clint Eastwood and Judy Garland in the desert at dusk."
Kane will support The Black Keys at the Ohio duo's shows in Leeds, Manchester and London next month. He'll also play the last ever concert at The Leadmill in Sheffield on June 27. Tickets are on sale now.
