Queens Of The Stone Age have announced a North American tour for the fall.
The American rock band will play a series of intimate, stripped back shows, billed as The Catacombs Tour, kicking off on October 2 in Chicago and wrapping up in New Orleans on November 21. Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time on Friday (June 27). Revealing the details with a post on social media, the band wrote:
"Announcing The Catacombs Tour. A limited series of very special one-night-only evenings at a curated selection of North America’s most historic theaters.
"Comprised of all-new arrangements crafted specifically for the occasion and enhanced by assembled ensembles, the end result will be a precious few unique and intimate performances unlike any previous QOTSA tour."
The tour is inspired by the band's new concert film, Alive In The Catacombs, which captures their performance with a string section last July in the Catacombs of Paris, where they were surrounded by millions of human remains. "The biggest audience we’ve ever played for," joked frontman Josh Homme at the time.
Ahead of the new dates, QOTSA will play several European festivals this summer, including two shows for the UK's Rock N Roll Circus gig series at Sheffield's Don Valley Bowl on August 27 and 28. They'll also headline Portsmouth's Victorious Festival on August 22, following a performance at Dublin's Royal Hospital Kilmainham on August 20. Tickets are on sale now.
The group released their latest album, 'In Times New Roman...', in 2023.
