BTS are set to drop their first live album later this month.
Captured during the K-Pop superstars' Permission To Dance On Stage World Tour, which ran between 2021 and 2022, 'Permission to Dance On Stage – LIVE' will arrive on all digital streaming platforms on July 18 via BIGHIT Music.
Featuring 22 tracks recorded across 12 sold-out performances in Seoul, Los Angeles and Las Vegas, the album includes live renditions of hits Dynamite, Butter, Life Goes On, Boy With Luv featuring Halsey, ON, and more.
Alongside the album, fans can access a digital package of the group's concerts held at Olympic Stadium in Seoul in March 2022, 'BTS Permission To Dance On Stage - SEOUL'. It'll feature over two hours of concert footage, and a 92-page photobook with interviews and behind-the-scenes content, accessible through a digital card format that unlocks high-definition content on the Weverse platform. The announcement follows the recent reunion of all seven members of BTS, following a hiatus that began in 2022 so they could complete their mandatory military service in South Korea. The group confirmed during a livestream on Weverse today (July 1) that they're set to make their comeback next year, with new music and a world tour expected in spring 2026. They said:
“We’ll be releasing a new BTS album in the spring of next year. Starting in July, all seven of us will begin working closely together on new music. Since it will be a group album, it will reflect each member’s thoughts and ideas. We’re approaching the album with the same mindset we had when we first started.
“We’re also planning a world tour alongside the new album. We’ll be visiting fans all around the world, so we hope you’re as excited as we are.”
While on hiatus, various members of the group have explored solo projects, with J-Hope recently dropping a new single, Killin' It Girl featuring GloRilla. Jin will also embark on his debut solo tour, #RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR, this summer. He released his second album, 'Echo', in May, six months after his solo debut, 'Happy'.
BTS' last full-length releases were 'Map of the Soul: 7 – The Journey' and 'Be', which both came out in 2020.
