The Streets have returned with a new single titled Brave St Andrew.
Blending leader Mike Skinner's laid back, spoken word vocal style with cinematic orchestral elements, the homage to Birmingham arrives through the frontman's own 45th Generation Roman label, and was specially composed for the new Prime Video documentary Built In Birmingham: Brady and the Blues.
Launching today (August 1), the five-part series offers a behind-the-scenes look at Birmingham City Football Club's transformation under new ownership, as NFL legend Tom Brady teams up with American businessman Tom Wagner to revive the club's fortunes. It also looks more broadly at the city itself.
Earlier this summer, The Streets headlined the opening night of the Little Simz-curated Meltdown Festival at London's Royal Festival Hall. At the start of the year, they released the single How To Win At Rock Paper Scissors, which they followed up with You Think You've Been Buried in April.
The Streets put out their most recent studio album, 'The Darker The Shadow, The Brighter The Light', in 2023. The record's companion film is streaming on YouTube.
