Florence and the Machine have shared the title track of their upcoming sixth album.
The eponymous track for 'Everybody Scream', due out on Halloween (October 31), finds the Florence Welch-led band exploring darker, theatrical territory with a gothic synth-laden anthem complete with a hooky chorus. Head below to view the song's dramatic video, directed by Autumn de Wilde.
The follow-up to 2022's 'Dance Fever' was crafted over a two-year period with Aaron Dessner of The National, Mitski, and Mark Bowen of Idles, who also appears in the video for Everybody Scream.
Inspired by Welch's recovery from a lifesaving surgery during the Grammy-nominated group's Dance Fever Tour in 2022, the record explores themes of womanhood, relationships, ageing and death, shaped by the singer's interest in spiritual mysticism, witchcraft and folk-horror.
The tracklist for the record hasn't been shared yet, but pre-order pages say it'll feature 12 new songs.
In the time since 'Dance Fever', Welch and band have released a deluxe edition, a live version recorded at New York City's Madison Square Garden, and a complete edition of the record. Last October, they put out 'Symphony Of Lungs - BBC Proms At The Royal Albert Hall', recorded in September during their performance with conductor Jules Buckley and his orchestra.
