Mên An Tol have released a new single, Lucky.
Blending indie and alt-rock, the melodic offering marks the second preview of the London band's sophomore EP, 'This Land', following their earlier track Not Ideal, which was produced by Fontaines D.C. guitarist Carlos O'Connell. Frontman Bill Jefferson said:
"Lucky is one of the first songs we ever messed around with as a band. There's been a few versions along the way but it was only when we just played it as it is, it clicked. It’s so simple and that’s where its power lies. It’s basically an anti-aspiration song. We’re told constantly we’ve got to be ‘this and that' by this time, and need to have ‘this and that' to be happy, but peoples lives and the world can feel pretty rigged so maybe I’m happy just doing my thing."
The five-piece will release 'This Land' on September 26, the same day they’ll drop the vinyl-only compilation 'Regional Music', featuring 'This Land' and their previous EP 'The Country'.
They'll tour the UK supporting Cardinals in September, before a headline show in Bedford and appearances at Cardiff Sŵn Festival and Brighton's Mutations Festival in October. Tickets are on sale now.
