Organisers behind the MOBO Awards have announced that next year's ceremony will take place in Manchester for the first time.
The 30th edition of Europe's biggest and most influential celebration of Black music and culture will relocate to the Co-Op Live on March 26.
In the run-up to the event, organisers will host a week-long fringe festival in Manchester, featuring industry talks, live music, and hands-on workshops. Fans can register now at mobo.com/awards for updates and priority access to tickets when they go on sale in December.
Started in London in 1996, the MOBO Awards have been hosted in several other UK cities across its history, including Glasgow, Liverpool, Leeds, Coventry, Sheffield, and Newcastle, where the 2025 edition took place back in February. Kanya King CBE, Founder and CEO of MOBO Group said:
"For 30 years, MOBO has been more than an awards show – it has been a movement, shaping culture, championing creativity, and opening doors for generations of talent. This milestone is a reminder that when you celebrate culture, you don’t just preserve history – you shape the future. Three decades on, the MOBO Awards remain a powerful reminder of how music can inspire, unite, and transform lives. Manchester has always been a city of music and movement, and now, together with MOBO, we will write the next chapter of cultural history."
This year's MOBO Awards saw Bashy take home awards for both Album Of The Year and Best Hip Hop Act, while special honours went to dancehall legend Vybz Kartel, who received the MOBO Impact Award, and Denise Lewis, who was honoured with the MOBO Paving The Way Award. Central Cee also hit the spotlight, picking up Best Male Act for the second year in a row, tying with Stormzy as the most awarded rapper in MOBO history. Head here for the full list of winners.
