Garbage are set to return to Australia and New Zealand later this year.
The alt-rock legends have lined up performances in Auckland, Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney between December 3 and 14, marking their first Australian headline shows since 2016 and their first visit to New Zealand since 2013.
The shows will be played in honour of the band's "mentor and iconic Aussie," Michael Gudinski, and take place alongside their previously scheduled appearances at Good Things Festival in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane on December 5, 6 and 7, respectively. Vocalist Shirley Manson said:
“To be able to return to sacred, stunning New Zealand and to Australia – the home country of our most beloved music business guru, Michael Gudinski – is an immense thrill for us as a band. We have been aching to return to this part of the world for a long time now and this tour will be played every night in Gudinski’s honour."
Garbage are currently on the North American leg of their Happy Endings Tour and will perform at Seattle's Paramount Theatre tonight (October 15). Prior to the run, the band announced it would be their last North American tour due to the current state of the music industry making it unsustainable for them to tour the region regularly.
They're on the road in support of their eighth studio album, 'Let All That We Imagine Be The Light', which was released in May.
Tickets for the new shows go on general sale at 1pm local time on October 22. All other dates are on sale now.
