Nathan Evans and The Saint PHNX Band have announced a major show in Scotland.
The Scottish artist will be accompanied by regular collaborators The Saint PHNX Band (Scottish sibling duo Stevie and Alan Jukes) at Edinburgh's Royal Highland Centre on August 22 as headliners of the inaugural Heather On The Hill Festival, which will form part of the Edinburgh Summer Sessions.
The family-friendly all-dayer takes its title from the former postman turned singer-songwriter's Top 40 single of the same name, and will also feature performances from a supporting line-up of artists handpicked by Evans and The Saint Phnx , including Cian Ducrot, Ella Henderson, Skerryvore, Brooke Combe and NATI. More acts are to be revealed in the coming months. Evans said:
"Everything that’s happened for me in the last five years has led to this point and to have our own festival named after Heather On The Hill is perfect. That song is the reason me, Stevie and Alan are in this position, playing Scottish folk-pop music we love for whole families of fans. Who’d have thought, when I uploaded it to tiktok on the window-ledge at my old house, it would lead to this?”
Stevie added: "To be here announcing our own festival is totally mind-blowing to say the least. Since Nathan invited us to write with him then perform the songs live, the whole thing’s snowballed into an avalanche. We’re all family people, married with kids and it’s been our mission to create shows that everyone can come to, for us all to celebrate music together. I think people are going to love it.”
Alan also commented: "We had all individually had the ambition to do our own festival one day, so it was a ‘eureka’ moment when this opportunity came up. It’ll be a day out for the whole family to experience great live music, and hopefully inspire the next generation to pick up an instrument. We’re three ordinary lads who’ve had a dream and made it come true thanks to Scotland getting behind us."
Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Friday (November 28).
The announcement follows news of Evans and The Saint PHNX Band's new joint album, 'Angels' Share', their first full-length project, due out on January 16. Singles already shared from the record include Arabella, Cotton Eye Joe and Milarrocjy Bay.
They'll support the LP with a 2026 world tour that includes shows in Belfast, Manchester and London in March. Evans and The Saint PHNX Band will also join The Coral on the supporting bill for Amy MacDonald's performance in Halifax on June 18 as part of the Live At The Piece Hall series. Tickets for those dates are on sale now
