Continuing the Welsh trio's shift towards a fuzzier, more melancholic alt-rock sound, the song explores the challenges of dating while appearing on a reality television show. It marks the second release in a fresh chapter, following earlier track Riverhouse. Vocalist KT Hall said:
"Lifehack is about the time when I was single before I met my partner. I wanted to go on Channel 4’s reality tv programme First Dates. I’m a fan of the show. I thought about the logistics and realities of dating on a reality TV show. What would it be like to fall in love in a fishbowl and have everything you ever wanted."
The band previewed Lifehack during their recent tour with Bilk on the Essex outfit's grassroots venue tour in October, the first tour backed by the Music Venue Trust's Liveline Fund, supporting the UK's grassroots music venues.
Arriving via Alcopop! Records two years after Chroma's Welsh Music Prize-nominated debut album,' Ask For Angela', the recent tracks offer a taste of what's to come on their next project, details of which are still to be announced.
