Sunn O))) Announce Self-Titled 10th Album, Share New Track Glory Black

Sunn O))) have announced their self-titled 10th studio album.
The robed Seattle drone metal outfit will release the eponymously titled 'Sunn O)))' on April 3, marking their first album since 2019's 'Pyroclasts' and their debut full-length for Sub Pop, with whom they signed with last October, alongside the release of their 'Eternity's Pillars' EP.
The album was tracked by long-time collaborators Stephen O'Malley and Greg Anderson at Bear Creek Studios in Woodinville, Washington, with Brad Wood, whose previous credits include Hum, Tar, Sunny Day Real Estate and Liz Phair.
"The vast tracking room had big windows looking out on trees," O'Malley said. "We could go hiking and be out in the woods, spend time outdoors. That became a big part of it."
Anderson shared: "What’s been happening with our performances over the last couple years with the two of us and no other collaborators or players has been really fresh and exciting. There’s been a lot of development. A lot of that was unexpected. And a lot of things that happened in the studio were really exciting and different from what we had been playing live, as well."
As a preview, the duo have shared the record's crushing 10-minute closing track, Glory Black, which opens with slow, dense guitar tones before overflowing with rumbling low-end and dark, hypnotic experimental doom.
